MIL-B-45367 Buses, Motor: Transit, Ambulance Conversion, Forward Control, With Hight Headroom, 30 And 44 Passenger, 2 Wheel DriveThis specification covers 30- and 44-passenger, forward driver control, two-wheel drive, diesel engine driven motor buses with ambulance conversion features. The bus body shall be a flat front type with high headroom. Vehicles shall have manufacturer\'s standard rear wheel drive, soft ride suspension, heavy duty bus chassis frame, and single front and rear axles. Vehicles procured under this specification are commercial items which shall be warranted by the manufacturer as specified in acquisition documents.

4.3.4.1.1 Test course. The total test mileage shall be not less than the mileage specified

in table III on roads and highways within the general geographic limits of the place of

manufacture and adjoining states. The course shall be arranged to return the vehicle to the

manufacturer's plant for inspection and chassis servicing at the completion of each 1,000 miles

(and at the end of the test, if less than a 1,000 mile increment is required under table III). The

turning radius requirement of 3.3.3 shall be verified at the completion of each 1,000 miles of

road test required. Failure of the vehicle to successfully complete the test shall be cause for

nonacceptance of any of the contract quantity, pending correction of deficiencies and evidence of

corrective action which shall preclude the recurrence of similar deficiencies in the contract

quantity. Failure of the vehicle to successfully complete the test shall not constitute an excusable

delay in meeting scheduled deliveries.

4.3.4.1.2 Test failure. The vehicle utilized for the road test shall successfully complete

the test. Substitution of a new vehicle or replacement of a major component may require

complete retest at the discretion of the Government representatives. Rejection of the test vehicle

shall be for deficiencies, including but not limited to the following:

(a)

Damage caused by collision

(b)

Failure of any major component

(c)

Vibration due to misalinement of wheels, frame, or driveshaft

(d)

Vibration due to the type of body construction or mounting

(e)

Failure of any drive line component.

(f)

Evidence of abnormal tire wear due to misalinement or unbalance

(g)

Failure of any vehicular safety device such as brakes, steering assembly, windshield

washers and wipers, or electrical circuits
