3.5.9.2 Plug-in feature. When specified (see 6.2), an electronic siren, public address and radio amplifier system in accordance with 3.5.9 and 3.5.9.1 shall be furnished, except:
(a) A microphone shall not be furnished
(b) The system shall include plug-in features for all connections, including a Government
furnished microphone and radio of the type, make and model specified (see 6.2)
(c) The system shall enable a single microphone (to be furnished by the Government) to be
used for both public address purposes through the external speaker and return messages through a Government furnished 2-way radio.
3.5.10 Spotlight. Two post mounted spotlights or a single spotlight mounted on the vehicle centerline in the windshield divider strip or directly over the windshield header section, with inside controls easily accessible to the driver and the assistant driver, shall be furnished.
3.5.11 Floodlight. A sealed beam floodlight shall be furnished at the rear of the vehicle. The light shall be wired to the chassis electrical system with a dash mounted switch for driver operation. The switch shall be labeled as to function. The floodlight shall be not less than
30 watts and shall provide not less than 50,000 candle power. The floodlight shall be swivel mounted to provide vertical and horizontal adjustment. The mounting shall include a locking device to secure the floodlight in any selected position. The mounting shall permit directing the light beam to all points two feet or more to the rear of the vehicle. The floodlight shall be mounted on the vehicle centerline.
3.6 Servicing and adjusting. Prior to acceptance of the vehicle by the Government inspector, the contractor shall service and adjust each vehicle and its mounted equipment for operational
use including at least the following: alinement of lights; adjustment of the engine, electrical and brake systems; filling and charging of the battery; alinement of the front wheels; inflation of all
tires; complete lubrication of chassis, engine, running gear, all vehicle parts, and on-vehicle equipment with grades of lubricants recommended for the ambient air temperature at the delivery
point; servicing and adjusting of the heating and air conditioning systems; servicing of the cooling system with a solution of ethylene glycol type antifreeze and water in equal parts by
volume; and servicing of the windshield washer reservoir with water and appropriate additives.
3.7 Workmanship. Defective components or parts and assemblies which have been repaired or modified to overcome deficiencies shall not be furnished. Cabinetry, interior lining, paneling, upholstery, furnishings, welded, bolted, and riveted construction utilized shall be installed in accordance with the highest standards of the industry.
